I want Jesus to walk with me
I want Jesus to walk with me
All along my pilgrim journey
I want Jesus to walk with me
This is the song that is playing again and again today, in my mind and also in my heart. This morning I finished up all my last minute details at home, walked to work with my backpack, and enjoyed a wonderful brunch with my colleagues. Then I said my goodbyes to everyone. Some were joy-filled, others were very teary. Some staff members will not return next year, but will move on to new tasks God has laid out before them.
Despite my many tears, I have to say that I am really experiencing a deep peace, a peace that passes all understanding. I know that, although it looks like I am travelling to Spain alone, I do not really go alone. God goes with me, and he has promised that he will never leave me or forsake me.
I am sure that my peace also comes from your prayers. Thank you to many who have encouraged me and told me that they are praying for me. Thank you to many more who have not told me, but are faithfully praying as well.
Now: my bags are packed and ready to go…
Actually, my bag has been packed since Saturday night.
This morning I repacked it with the poles inside, and my kobo, journal, water bottle (empty, of course!) went into my “carry on”.
Off to the airport! Tomorrow morning I’ll be in Paris!
Have an awesome trip! God speed…only 26 km a day! You and God can do it! Have fun!
